We welcome international students at all year levels and encourage all students to become fully immersed in the life of the school. We foster a culture of innovation and excellence, underpinned by traditional values.
Students will benefit from small class sizes, enthusiastic and dedicated teachers, excellent pastoral care, outstanding facilities, a strong academic programme, and a wide range of cultural and sporting activities.
Learning programmes include a wide range of subjects which they study alongside our New Zealand students and in so doing they build friendships which in turn will help them to acquire conversational English. We offer English support programmes so that International Students are given the necessary skills to succeed. An ESOL programme is available to all International Students studying towards IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
Māruawai College is signatory to the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the New Zealand Ministry of Education.
We employ trained staff to look after our International Students. They ensure that all of the students needs are met during their stay. Homestay accommodation with New Zealand families is arranged for students to suits their interests.
